According to WHO South Africa stood sixth place after reporting 615,701 cases till 29th August 2020. The first case was reported on the 5th of March, 2020 by the Minister of Health Zweli Mkhize. The total reported deaths are 13,502 and the death rate of the country is round about 2.5% which is lowest in the world. More than 3.63 million tests were conducted and 533,935 peoples were recovered from the deadly pandemic. The economy of South Africa will face -8.0% shortfalls in GDP during the current financial year.
