10. Russia (RUS)

Russia or Russian Federation is the tenth most successful nation in the world in terms of winning the Gold Medal in the Summer Olympic Games. In 1991, the Russian Olympic Committee was created and after two years in 1993, it was recognized by the IOC. National Olympic Committee for socialist represents East Germany in the Olympics and was founded on 22nd April 1951 in East Berlin. After a decade, it was recognized by the IOC. Since its recognition, East Germany was participated five times in the Summer Olympics from 1968 to 1988. East German athletes won a total of 409 medals in which 153 Gold, 129 Silver and 127 Bronze medals. East Germany was declared defunct by IOC after the reunification of Germany in 1990.

With 175 Gold medals, Hungary stood eighth place in the list of most successful nations of the world in the Summer Olympics. Hungarian Olympic Committee was recognized in 1895 by IOC and was first participated in the inaugural games of the Olympics, in 1896. The 26 appearances of the Hungarian athletes from 1896 to 2016 in the Summer Olympics, won 175 Gold, 147 Silver and 169 Bronze Medals and a total of 491 medals. 7. Germany (GER)
