Top Ten Most Winning Wrestlers of The WWE Championship

You are cordially welcome into the world of wrestling. Here I am going to discuss the wrestlers who ruled over the WWE Championship and holds the title of WWE Champion from 1963 to date. Don’t forget to scroll down because I am going to share with you a list of the top ten most winning Wrestlers of the WWE Championship. The WWE Championship is a world championship established on April 25, 1963, by the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). The Inaugural championship was won by Buddy Rogers.

The WWE Championship is currently running under the RAW brand of World Wrestling Entertainment Incorporation (WWE) which is an American based Media and Entertainment Company, famous for professional wrestling. There are twenty-three championships and ten other titles running under the three brands of WWE namely RAW, SmackDown and NXT. There are the top three titles of WWE’s, the NXT Championship on the NXT brand, the Universal Championship on the SmackDown brand and the WWE Championship on the RAW brand. Now I am sharing a list of the top ten most winning champions of the WWE Championship under the RAW brand.

Before sharing the list of the top ten most winning wrestlers of the WWE Championship, I want to share the names of those wrestlers who won the title two or more times. Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Randy Savage, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Yokozuna, Seth Rollins, Ric Flair, Sycho Sid, Alberto Del Rio, Big Show and Batista won the title two times. The wrestlers who won the title three times in history are Shawn Michaels, Sheamus, Roman Reigns and Mankind. Bruno Sammartino has recorded to holds the title for more than 11 years (4040 days) and placed on first in order of reign. The Bob Backlund placed on third place for holding the championship for a combined of 2138 days as champion.

10. The Undertaker

Edge and Daniel Bryan won the title four times along with The Undertaker and Kurt Angle but due to short reign, they were not placed in the tenth position. The reign of Edge and Daniel Bryan were 210 day and 139 days respectively. The Undertaker is placed in the tenth spot after winning the Championship four times. His reign is spread over 238 days. Mark William Calaway also is known as The Undertaker is an American professional wrestler born on March 24, 1965. During his 33 years career which starts from 1987, he won so many Championships and accomplishments. He won WWF World Tag Team Championship six times, World Heavyweight Championship for four times, WCW Tag Team Championship and WWF Hardcore Championship one times, etc. He is also known for the Streak which was a series of 21 victories in WWE’s annual premier event, WrestleMania. He serves to WWE for almost 30 years and become one of the longest-tenured wrestlers. 

09. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle won the WWE Championship four-time along with The Undertaker, but due to his reign spans over the 299 days which is recognized by WWE, he got the ninth position in our top ten most winning wrestlers of the WWE Championship. He was born in Mt. Lebanon Township, Pennsylvania, the United States on December 9, 1968. Kurt Steven Angle made his debut in 1996 at a pro-wrestling event and become a part of the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in 1998 after signing the contract. In 2006, he joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) after leaving WWE. He won 21 Championships in WWF/WWE, Japan and TNA and won World Championship 12 times. He was introduced in the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31, 2017 and also inducted in TNA Hall of Fame. He is the only pro-wrestler who won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship, WWE Championship, WCW Championship and the IGF’s IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

He is a Canadian-American retired professional wrestler and was born in Alberta, Canada on July 2, 1957. He won 32 different Championships in five decades from the 1970s to 2010s. He was also served as General Manager of Raw.

After winning the WWE Championship five times Brock Lesnar spot at number seven in our top ten most winning wrestlers of the WWE Championship. His reign spanned over the 761 days as recognized by the WWE. He won WWE Championship at the age of 25 and becoming the youngest champion in the title’s history. Brock Lesnar full name Brock Edward Lesnar is an American professional wrestler and former professional football player and mixed martial artist and was born on July 12, 1977. He is the only wrestler in history to hold a WWE World Championship and UFC Championship.

Steve James Anderson is better known as ring name Stone Cold Steve Austin placed in sixth place after winning the championship six times along with Hulk Hogan. Due to his short reign (529 days), as compared to Hulk Hogan, he has ranked after the Hulk Hogan. He is a retired professional American wrestler born on December 18, 1964, in Texas, U.S. He is also working as a television host, produced and actor. During his 14 years from 1989 to 2003 as a wrestler, he holds 19 championships. In 2009, he was also introduced into the WWE Hall of Fame.

05. Hulk Hogan

The reign of Hulk Hogan is spanned over 2185 days which is the second-longest period after Bruno Sammartino as a WWE Champion. In his 35 years wrestling career, he won the title six times. According to IGN, he is the most popular wrestler in the 1980s and the most recognized wrestling star worldwide. Terry Eugene Bollea ring name Hulk Hogan born on August 11, 1953, in Georgia, United States. He is a retired American professional wrestler and famous for wrestling. He is also known for his work as an acting, entrepreneur and television personality. He was also introduced in WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Dwayne Douglas Johnson also was known by his ring name The Rock is the fourth most WWE Championship holder and won the title eight times. His reign spanned over 378 days. He won ten World Championships and so many accomplishments including WWF Intercontinental Championship, WWF Tag Team Championship, Royal Rumble, Sixth Triple Crown Championship, etc. He is a retired American-Canadian professional wrestler born on May 2, 1972. He was also an American football and Canadian football player. Now he is an actor, producer and businessman.

03. Triple H

Triple H is the third most title holder of WWE Championship

Triple H got third place after winning the title nine times and his reign spanned over 611 days. His real name is Paul Michael Levesque and he was born on July 27, 1969, in New Hampshire, United States. He is also an actor and Business Executive. His professional wrestling career started in 1992 and he won the World Championship for fourteen times and became third most World Championship holder. He won a number of other championships like the Intercontinental Championships five times, the World tag team championship three times, and European Championship two times. He was also part of the WWE Hall of fame and his name was inducted in 2019.

02. Randy Orton

Randy Orton is the second most winning wrestler of WWE Champoinship

Now we move towards the second place which is held by Randy Orton by winning the WWE Championship nine times. The reign of Randy Orton is long (658) as compared to Triple H that’s why I placed him on number two. Randal Keith Orton is also known by his ring name Randy Orton is a third-generation American professional wrestler born on April 1, 1980. He started his professional wrestling career in 2000 after signing the WWF. Randy Orton won the World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Benoit and became the youngest World Champion in the history of WWE at the age of 24. He won the World Championships thirteen times and the WWE recognizes him as having the fourth most World Championship victories in the history after Cena, Ric Flair and Triple H.

John Cena the prototype and Mr. P got the first position in the list of top ten most winning wrestlers of the WWE Championship after winning thirteen titles. His reign is spanned over 1254 days which is the fourth-longest by any wrestler. John Felix Anthony Cena Jr. is also known by his ring name John Cena is an American professional wrestler, television presenter and actor born on April 23, 1977, in Massachusetts, United States. He started his professional career in 1999 when he debuted for Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW). In 2001, he signed with the WWF and till now he won sixteen World Championships and placed at number one in the history of WWE. He is also won five-time United States Championship and four-time World Tag Team Championship.
